I'm thinking about getting a Rio Striper DC Coldwater line for use on Puget Sound in Washington from my boat for salmon and sea-run cutthroat. If anyone has used this line, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on it. How it casts, running line tangling, etc. Thanks.

I have that line in a 9wt. I use it for striper fishing in the NE.

Its not a bad line, the running line tangles a bit but less so than the running line of the Orvis Depth Charge.

In all honesty I don't use it that often since T-14 with a braided mono running line fills the same role better.

I have a few of them and like them. They sink a lot faster than other brands sporting an comparable grain weight. They are easy to cast but "feel" a lot heavier when you're casting than say an Orvis or SA line of the same grain wt.
