Does anyone have recommendations for beach sites to fish in lower CT between Greenwich and New Haven? A little beyond New Haven is OK too.

Hmmm, that sounds awefully like marketing hype. I live 20 miles North of Norwalk and I would say;

i) If it was possible to actually see deeper than 12 inches around Norwalk so that you could actually see the flats
ii) if shore access wasn't impossible and
iii) if the boat traffic didn't make it feel like Times Square during the rush hour

I might agree. that there is flats fishing in the Norwalk area but even at its best it wouldn't be a shadow of the flats to be found further East.

There is shore access in spots between Greenwich and New Haven and the fishing can be good at times. Your best bet is the Coastal Access guide which is available online here....

That title belongs to Monomoy in my book. Bayside would be just as good, however the tide makes it less hospitable.

Last months FFSW had an article by Tabory (I think) on fishing Fairfield county.

Calf Pasture Beach
Compo Beach
Burial Hill Beach
Ash Creek
Penfield Reef
Fairfield Beach
West Haven Sandbar

Access may be an issue at the first three on the list. Check out Penfield at low tide during the day before wading there at night on a flood tide. Same with the WH sandbar.

The above are just a few. The following link details CT shore access.
