Looking for a 10ft (+) 10wt rod. seems none on the big names are making one. Wondering if anybody knows anybody that is building such a thing. Would rather it had a bit of a progressive action that the telephone pole style action of other bigger rods.

I had a "switch rod" made from a FT 1010-4 blank/6" removable 2 handed butt section. If anything it is on the "soft side" but handles Rio "Outbound" 11wt OK. Single handed it is a joy to cast. PM me if you want particulars.

One of the best I have come accross is the Streamside Elite rod. Comes in a 10 ft. 10 wt. and casts like a dream. Very reasonably priced at approx. $100.00 canadian. If you want more info let me know.

Just curious, why a 10' 10wt? Major manufacturers don't make them because the 9' is fine for most situations.

I primarily fish two handers (13ft +). 9ft rods make me feel like I am really misssing out on the lifting power of that extra foot. Maybe all in my head, but its just what I like.

St Croix makes a 10'6" rod for a 9wt line I'm sure it could handle a 10wt line with no problem. It was designed by Bob Popovic. There are probably some 10' rod blanks out there but you'll have to do some research. FishHawk
