Noticed that you guys are fishing some bodies of water in the dark where power boats are running. So what do you use for running lights on your yaks?

Scott rod holder company makes a 360 degree running light that fits right into the flyrod holder bases. The visibility is great, as is the battery life.

Similar to Mark, I have a 360 from Westmarine that attaches with a suction cup. It holds extremely well.

Now for the follow up question. Can you really see all that well while paddling in the dark or do you rely on your GPS to navigate? If the full moon is out you can see pretty well. Guess I sort of answered my own question. FishHawk

I fish areas with plenty of ambient light, so I usually don't have to rely on GPS. Salt ponds and estuaries are the places I fish at night with the yak. They are safe and hold plenty of fish.

Likewise, I haven't ventured out in the yak on big open water at night - yet :lildevl: When I do, it will be in company of other paddlers that know the area well.

All of the areas I fish at night are familar places that I've paddled many times during the day. Being familiar with potential trouble spots and nuances of current at different stages of the tide is a big confidence booster once the sun has gone down.
