I have the opportunity to purchase an "almost new" 10 foot, four piece, six weight Loomis. I dont have the ID numbers but the reel handle is made of wood and the rod looks very high end. The guy is asking 260.00 for it.

Anyone know about Loomis rods, perhaps even this one. I think it would be perfect on grilse to 10lb salmon, and steelhead.....for drys and small wets. I love my Sage 10 foot for an #8, and want another 10 footer for lighter work.

Any information is appreciated.

Loomis is a good name in rod making and they have produced some nice reels in the past. Try to find out the model numbers and we could probably offer a bit more info.

Ask if it is a GLX

Thanks for asking for the specs. The rod, is a discontinued TRILLOGY. No numbers on the blank other than FR 1206-3, which only means fly rod, 120 inches, six weight, three piece.

The rod is in new condition. The reel seat is made from a light colored wood and is quite attractive. I again, he wants $260 but I know he will take a less because few on Long Island, where I live, want 10 foot rods.

I happen to love 10 footers as they are great in rivers, and not bad anywhere else.

Looking forward to hearing some word.

hi, if he really wants to sell it, he should let you try it for a day or two, if hes not too happy about it, you might make him the offer of 10% if not bought

we can all tell you the rod is this or that, but in the end it comes down to feeling it in your hand

good luck on the rod

btw the rod is worth what you r willing to pay for it (after you have cast it)
