We had A LOT of Bluefish Action at BoneClave 2001. A while ago I had bought some "Jewelry Wire" at JoAnns Fabric Store, but had not yet tested it. The brand name is "Tiger Tail." It is braided SS with a nylon coating; the spool is like a tippet spool; it has 30' of wire & I think it cost $1.99. I would estimate its strength at around 30#. Well, it held up Very Well to Bluefish. I think I landed up to 6 fish on a single peace & the fish ran from 5-9#. The failures we did have occured at the knot between the wire & the Mono! Also, it seems fairly low Vis.

GregO - thanks for showing me that stuff at the clave. I am all over that! My last roll of american wire was 8 bucks, and frankly I like the color of your stuff better.

Great find!

Based on the most recent discussion in the Gear thread -

I've also bought and tried a couple weights of this Acculon TigerTail wire; very handy, very worthwhile.

It appears from the TygerWire website that several of our board sponsors sell Tyger Wire through their shops
