Fly fishing Zanzibar

Thinking about Zanzibar for a holiday and want to know if salt water fly fishing an option there.. if so where and what can I expect to catch?

Looks like an interesting destination. I have no first hand knowledge but I'll bet there are a lot of opportunties from shore and boat and I would definitely take fly gear. Expect encounters with all manner of toothy critters so some wire should be in the kit. I would bet you'll find big bones, jacks, possibly Tarpon (they grow big on the Atlantic side of Africa - not sure about the Indian Ocean side?

According to web resources the south east coast of zanzibar has excellent flats fishing for bonefish... check out 39 deg / 30 mins lat/long!

definitely bring the rods!
