a) Why does god keep pissing on massachusetts (literally)?
b) I'm arriving in Chatham tommorrow (Sat) at around 8 AM. I usually fish the tub and park by the condos. Will there be an issue with parking due to everyone fishing with the clave?

THANKS!

Chris -

No issue with parking, as long as you are using the refuge for fishing you can park there or the lot at the lighthouse. I always call the Chatham Police to ask them if it's ok past the 9am curfew before Memorial Day, they always say yes.

I think the shuttle runs at 7am tomorrow, 8am Sunday I highly recommend taking it over to South Beach or North Monomoy where most of the gang will be fishing if you want to get the scoop.

But since you arrive at 8pm the tub is a good place to start, the wind should be out of the south/southwest and tide dropping so I would not ignore the area right at the foot of the stairs with a sinking line and a sand eel pattern, you should find fish cruising and feeding right on the bottom if nothing is showing on top.

Dinner at 6:30 at the Stone Horse see you there.

Juro,

Sorry for being out of the loop so bad. The shuttle is just running at 7 AM tommorrow? Is it a one shot deal?

I'd go back to all the posts about the clave except that I'll get in trouble with the boss for not doing my work. :tsk_tsk:

No clav for me! Sick as a dog! Actually drove to Chatham and then turned around and came home. Why is it always me? Better luck next year.

Yeah I am at work too... but I just got the Canal Skagit Report :Eyecrazy:

JFBAsser hooks and lands a 25# fish on the first cast. Something about using a rubber? Or wait maybe it was a rubber sluggo. :lildevl:

The Skagit system works well, but needed some adjustments. Due to the fast currents and depths the sinking heads were adjusted to Rio "big boys" and some nice fish were caught by the Skagit gang on the setup.

More research will be conducted but Sean was quoted as saying "we need bigger ammunition". Apparently there were some huge fish set up in that big rip we call the ditch.

Steve - very sorry to hear about your illness... you will be missed. It's a long season and you might as well not wind yourself in May, get well and we will see you out there soon.

Just spoke to the Capt'n...

Business as usual over the weekend, first run at 8am, last run at 4 or 5pm (check when you get on board).

The round trip fee is $15, tell Keith what time you want to come back.

To get there:

Take 28 thru Chatham Village to Shore Road. Take a right.

Pass the lighthouse ( great spot btw )

Do not fork right, instead go straight and down the hill

Take a right on Morris Island Rd.

Go to the end of the causeway, you will see lots of vehicles parked. Parking is free.

Hints:

Great sandwiches at the Chatham Village Cafe', 400 Main on the left before you get to Shore Rd.

If fishing the refuge on foot (no shuttle) free parking at the Refuge HQ just up the hill on the left from the end of the causeway.

Lighthouse beach is excellent, park and walk to the right as far as you wish to wander. Both sides are good fishing, the inside flats the outside surf.

Dinner - 6:30, bring $15 and a fly each

Shuttle is at the Monomoy Wildlife Refuge HQ, past the Chatham light down the hill and right on Morris Island Rd to end of causeway, be there at 7:30am or call to make alternative arrangements (508) 945-5450 / $15 roundtrip per person

FISH ARE IN!!!

I think I heard Sean say "If I go up to 1600 grains on this thing I might be able to throw a SluggO":smokin:

It was a very good morning Skagiting.. I even Skagited a fish up between Sluggo and Jig fish...Quite a pod of fish came through the Ditch today... on the way to Fred A's place:biggrin:

Slinger gave me a call on his way back home today. Get rid of that bug soon Slinger.....
