Hi Alex -

Sounds very interesting! Do you fish from shore or a boat?

I hear from friends that the peacocks are absolutely insance fighting fish. I have enjoyed watching folks fish for them on TV.

but, here, in this area i live in, peacock arenīt so big... the
haviest ones are around 12 pounds...

i donīt use boat for fishing them... just cast from the shore/banks.

maybe iīll go there this weekend... :chuckle:

I'll be an hour north of Rio at the end of August, how much further would I have to go for Peacocks? I'm not having the best luck finding good flyfishing info for Brazil, aside from saltwater, which I won't have the time for. Like I said, I'll be North of Rio, outside of Petropolis.

check out you'll get lots of info on places in brazil to fish and lures to use. as for flies i use very large (8"-12") flatwings tied either in bright or flashy colors. the fish are not fussy but will appreciate big baits.
