: Woods Hole (June1-July15th) - two handed rods?

Just learned that I am going to be in Woods Hole for the first part of the summer. I am a steelhead guy living in the midwest who loves to swing flies with my two-handed rod. I am really hoping to do quite a bit of striper/blues fishing during my stay in MA and I've got some questions. I've never been to the Cape and I am pumped.
1. What kinds of water should I be targeting this time of year? I don't have a motor boat (maybe a canoe or watermaster raft) so I think I will be limited to beaches/estuaries with public access around the Woods Hole area. I will be limited to early morning/ evening fishing.
2. In terms of gear, I've got a two-hander (13'6" 8/9 (meiser mks) and a 9' 8 weight (Sage SP+).
Which rod do you think will be most appropriate for the waters I should be targeting) and what kinds of lines should I be looking at (floating, intermediate, sinking)? I am assuming that I will want to be using some shooting heads. I have done some striper fishing out on the West coast (Delta) but that was strictly 28' of t-14 on the 9' rod.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Woods hole proper that time of year will have some opportunities but I would swing around to the Knob at least, also on to Old Silver Beach and the other various nooks and crannies on the southeast shore of buzzards bay and also drive east to the Falmouth beaches and ponds and inlude Dowses and Wianno for sure.

You will have plenty of Spey opportunities on the running tides once you get up far enough into the canal area.

If you get more time make sure to hit the quintessential Monomoy flats fishery which is a fairly long drive but well worth it.

Make time to hit the bayside's unique beaches, creeks and flats as well.

The cape is pretty much wall to wall, just explore and you shall find.

Papenfus, what brings you to Woods Hole, and what kind of fishing do you like to do? I've lived there since '85 and mightrbe able to help you out. Also have a skiff in Eel pond and an offshore boat in Greatr harbor. PM me if you don't want to post details here.
