I'm heading to the Salmon R. (NY) tomorrow (Friday). Has anyone fished it since the water went up to 1500 cfm? Thanks in advance for any info. :)

I haven't fished it this week but 1500 is very conducive to swinging flies. The fish tend to be close to shore or in the soft currents. There is a good mix of fresh-spawning-drop-backs in the river right now. Good luck

Thanks Shaq
I am surprised that they raised the water level. There is not much snow in the Tug Hill and I heard the reservoir was not full. It would be nice to see some storage to keep decent flows going thru the Summer.

Fished the Salmon on Fri April 7. Water was 1100 cfm.
one hookup and one 22" brown for 5 hours effort.
Upper flyzone was crowded. Lower fly zone was not crowded at all. Also fished the tailout of the trestle pool.... swinging flies on a sinktip.
I saw a few trout landed by others ..... but in general it was pretty slow. Maybe it was the afternoon rain & low pressure that put them off.
