FLAT GOLD TINSEL TAG
CHART. UNI-STRECH BUTT
GOLDEN CREST TAIL
TWISTED PEACOCK SWORDS - BODY
OVAL GOLD RIB
RINGNECK RUMP HACKLE BEHIND YELLOW GUINEA (2 TURNS)
And TURKEY TAIL FOR THE WING

A nice fly for crystal clear, flat winter pools.
This (fly) has to have a name out there somewhere. (flytier ??)
I can't beleave with natural and readily available components, that I would be the first to tie something
Everything tied is just a variation of something else.

Steve!!! Shhhh! Now everybody's going to start tying with peacock bodies! Never understood why it isn't used more. I wouldn't bother calling that a winter fly though. That's a 24X7X365 fly. Anytime anyplace... Great fly.

Have to agree with Brian. Looks like it would make a good Atlantic fly.

And Philster is of course right, peacock is not used nearly enough, either for Steelhead or Atlantics.

Great stuff Steve.

Charlie.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
On second look, this is a variation on a variation of a Carey (?) special.
My original version has a red squirrel hair wing
With special significance as a "new fly" - first cast - fish on! - 9 lb. male steelhead.
I don't think I've done that before, and I know I have not done it since.
This photo is a bushy #8 , I carry it in #8, 6 & #2

Thanks,
Steve
