: Are you ready for some... (no FF content)
For the record, what are your predictions for this weekend's NFL playoff games?
Colts, Seattle, New England, Bears
Carolina looked strong but I think Chicago knows something about them when they pounded them 23-3 last time. It should be much closer but...
Gotta love the Steelers but... (thank you bus!)
Brunell might have some de ja vu from his UW days but it won't get him a win at Qwest. Seattle is feeling it and coming full force...
New England playoff monster as been awakened, this game is going to be a nail biter all the way as Denver is smokin' and playing hard in that thin air. It's been a while since the last Vinateri moment...
(but - your guess is as good as mine!)
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BROOOOOOOOOOOOONCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!:D
The Pats are going to be deaf for weeks after this game with our crowd noise. Won't matter cuz they won't have to suit up again til next season anyway.

What's interesting about New England is that they really haven't played their best game yet. Their offense was nearly non-existant during the first half of the Jacksonville game.
Let's remember that Denver beat a depleted New England team during the regular season. It's gonna be a tough game, and if I had to bet money I'd probably put it on Denver, only because of the home field advantage. Both teams are playing well.
My other picks: Colts, Seahawks, and Panthers
01-12-2006, 02:37 PM
I just hope the Redskins win so we get another Clinton Portis aka "Bro Sweets" aka "Dollah Bill" interview.
The guy is a riot.
... and a hell of a running back. But then again he's no Shaun Alexander ;)
01-12-2006, 02:44 PM
Pats gonna bust them Broncos.....
01-12-2006, 03:14 PM
The Skins could do it. They can't have a worse offensive game then last weekend.
01-12-2006, 03:42 PM
Bears, Pats, Steelers, and Redskins. You gotta love the underdog even though the favorite wins about 80% of the games played immediately after the by-week (or is it "buy-week") in the playoffs (I think). Theoretically, that suggests only one of the teams I have picked should win. Of the four teams I picked, the Steelers is the one in which I have the least confidence.

Pats, SeaBirds, Iron City, and Cats are my picks...Wish the Pats were on Fox with their better HD signal so we could see the Crispy D-IIII of New England that is going to shut down the Broncos:biggrin:

If the Pats win they'll go all the way. Denver is a difficult team for them. They are in Indy 's head and will beat them. Pat's will win Super Bowl. FishHawk

My picks are:
I'm hoping for a Pats-Bears Super Bowl. :)
01-13-2006, 09:52 AM
Pats 46, Bears 10. What goes around comes around.
There was never any doubt...
Hope some of you guys fish better than you pick football game winners...
The Pats are DEAD from a mule kick to the head. :chuckle:
from my Donkeys.:chuckle:

The Pats outplayed the Broncos in every respect but they turned the ball over at the worst possible times. I've never seen a team turn the ball over so many times when it was so bad for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Pats outplayed the Broncos in every respect EXCEPT ACTUALLY SCORING but they turned the ball over at the worst possible times. I've never seen a team turn the ball over so many times when it was so bad for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with the pats gone who'll stop the colts this year.....
01-15-2006, 06:17 AM
Got to take the good with the bad. Patriots won a lot of games, during thier run, the way Denver won last night. But the important thing is that the striper migration will get underway 3 weeks earliear than the last 2 years. Been much too warm for playoff football.

The Pats . . . . I've never seen a team turn the ball over so many times when it was so bad for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Except when they had Bledsoe as QB :chuckle: .
I would like to have seen the Pats win, but I generally despise a team that's a so-called dynasty so it doesn't bother me too much that they are out of it this year.
Guess that clears one potential conflict with the Marlboro FF Show!
with the pats gone who'll stop the colts this year.....
Albeit a meaningless game after both had clinched Seattle had them down 21-3 with both teams playing at full strength for the first half recently.
I say Seattle will stop them, and Paul Allen will get his reward, Mr.Allen you are the man! All Seattle has to do is play mistake-free and not lose their MVP running back in the first series on the goal line and the score will take them through.
Griz, Broncos played hard and fast and deserved the big win against my home team Pats but sorry dude Colts are going to put them down.
(tongue in cheek of course)
LAST CHANCE for Sunday predictions...
Colts over Steelers, Bears and Panthers? TOUGH call - I think Chicago will find a way over Carolina in a close one on their home turf via short field / turnovers.
01-15-2006, 11:39 AM
So far I'm 0-for-two. The only game I really care about is the Bears/Carolina.
01-15-2006, 01:29 PM
I'm two for two right now, but so far the Steelers are lookin' good against the Colts.
But wait there's more...:Eyecrazy:
01-15-2006, 03:21 PM
"He missed it"!!!!!!!!!!!!
01-15-2006, 03:28 PM
Things worked out perfectly for a Foxboro AFC championship game, except...
I'm rootin for a blue collar superbowl, da bears and the steelers.
01-15-2006, 08:27 PM
Curses, my Bears have been foiled again. The good news is that it looks like we have found a quarterback.
BTW, I went 1-for-4. That may be passable for steelhead fishing, but not so good for betting on football.
dOh - I think I have to trade in my swami hat, my guesses were way off the mark.
More great football ahead next week... GO SEAHAWKS
01-16-2006, 07:24 AM
3 for 4 ...... should have picked against the Pats to go perfect:devil:
Super Bowl.....Cats 24 Steelers 14
Panthers winning without any RB's in Seattle against a returning Shaun Alexander (league MVP / rushing leader / TD all-time record holder) pushing a team that can win just fine without him? On the other side of the ball a league-leading in sacks defense that looked as good or better than either of the two teams defenses last night?
Kitty litter. :lildevl:
Hey any old AFC West guys out there? Imagine a superbowl between the Seahawks and the Broncos?
01-16-2006, 07:59 AM
BTW the lines right now have Denver favored to win the Super Bowl????? Seems to be an odd stance from the oddsmakers..
01-16-2006, 08:38 AM
Once again, Peyton Manning hasn't shown himself to be anything great in the playoffs. He's 3-6 in those games, and none of his three victories were very significant. Get in his face, knock him down, and he's not the same. He's also now pointing fingers at his offensive line for protection issues....
I was three for four, and would have been perfect if the Colts had played a full game of football (not just the last ten minutes).
01-16-2006, 06:26 PM
This whole football weekend sucked big time! Both of my teams (Bears and Pats) lost games by bad/stupid plays. The Pats on turnovers, the Bears by not putting their best DB on Steve Smith. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that they should have put Vasher on him when it was very apparent Tillman was having an off day and couldn't cover him!!!
