: What did Santa bring you?

So what sort of fishing-related items did Santa bring you?

I got a wood catch and release net from my wife, and then traded a jewelry box for an anniversary Rapala lure at a Yankee swap yesterday. I think I got the better end of that deal... ;)

I got a bottle of fly dip (18 year old Taliskers), a couple of gift cards to the Bears Den and a gift cert to Fishing the Cape. I think the gift cards will morph into something from Tibor or Abel but suggestions are welcome.

Received a water proof cell phone "bag"...from my wife........because last October I dropped our cell phone in the water while fishing the inlet at Morris Island. I kinda thought that the gurgling sounds it made when we received a call were cute...guess not :)

I got a new chest pack, waders, rain jacket, some 12 year old blended fly dip and um .... a couple cod jigs.

(I suspect Santa filled it AFTER he got it down the chimney?!)

Got a Boga Grip. Anyone know where I can get one of those floats they put on the lanyard so it won't end up at the bottom of the ocean?

Told the wife and family to spend NO christmas funds on me this year, because I ordered myself another Burkheimer spey rod (9145-4). Hey, if you want to get what you really want, you better go get it before they buy you an official Nascar bass-o-matic with the "Fish AWN!" audible strike indicator (been there, dun that :o ).

I certainly can't complain . . .

. . . Among other things, my wife gave me the Wulff Fly Casting School in June and my 4 girls gave me an Abel Creek Series reel with the Brook Trout fish graphics paint job!

I had the itch to get out with the warm days but barely had enough time to catch sleep never mind a few nice rainbows. Drop me a line next time you sense a warm spell and are heading out that way.

All of you are very lucky. I got 35 dollars worth of heavy duty cleaning supplies under the tree and spent yesterday in the engineless bilge. 17 years of grease and oil to clean up. Items found in the lowest section, 4 sockets, two flashlights and many bolts and washers. Last but not least about 4 pounds of wet rust dust.
But she is clean and looking good.

You all enjoy your gifts and I hope you use them as much as I used mine. :smokin:

I got a 9' 9 wt Winston IBIS fly rod. I just need to save my lunch money for a reel and I'll probably use it for Smallmouths, Largemouths and Stripers.

I'm thinking about an Orvis Mid Arbor Battenkill V.

Phew! I was a little worried because it was discounted since Winston is discontinuing them. Glad to hear they are OK.
