The blurb that came with my 7/8 quotes a front taper of 15', a belly of 12' and a rear taper of 5' -- weight 470. They recommend a 9', T-10 tip, maxing out at 560 for the whole rig.

I've tried to cast heavier, longer tips and they aren't much fun so their recommendation about tip length and weight should be followed.
