Weather kept me home rather than down the Cape. With the first opp at a look at the sun in a while I headed down the canal area in search of jfbasser, Slinger and fishawk but didn't find 'em. Headed over to Sagamore to get out of the wind. Very pleasant on the beach, nice sunrise and schoolies caught while watching and waitng for the blitz action that was happening big time off shore a bit. After all the rain and missing most of the nice weather in the past month it was great to get out, fling a fly and recharge a bit.

Slinger, Basser, and Fishhawk were in the area on Saturday in the rain
Sling did well on the East end with his newfound propensity for throwing MegaBaits..Hawk fished near the RR bridge with the fly...I was throwing jigs and pencil poppers with some new braid on the conventional in preparation for the Rhody Clave :D Fish showed at the West end at the tail end of the West running tide (as usual) Seems like the big boys that were there earlier in the week providing daily meals for entire canal area have vacated for the moment...hope they are headed to Rhody :D

Sunday I had to fish a freshwater tournament (still do one a year..fundraiser thing in honor of a member of the club that passed away years ago)...wind wasn't that bad when we ran down wind at twice the wind speed

Nice to hear there are still a few around. Fred, will we be seeing you in Rhody this weekend?

I was thinking about trying to get down but I need to get down the Cape and clean up the yard, etc. Haven't done anything down there in over a month. I'm resigned to the fact that the fishing is over for me aside from swinging a fly in the river between dump runs when I'm on the cape. My daughter has set a wedding date and I fear the next six months will be hell for me. My wife is on the warpath with home improvement stuff and so forth. I'm planning on serious fishing season next year though once all this festive stuff is over.

Fred, I know a good home improvement contractor...I have PMed his phone number so you can get in a little more fishing time

I'd hire my son but he cost too much.

I know how that is. I don't make anything when my son helps me on a side job.
Congratulations on your daughter, I think- I have two myself and anticipate their engagements with equal measures of hope and dread.

Hope you can make it but if not I sure understand. This is likely my last foray south so if you don't make it I'll see you at the shows.

I can help with the camera and save you some Aclins $$$$$.
