Just a last minute pond trip the week before my AK trip and did manage to hook and bring to hand-literally a few nice bluegills and a Bass or three. I think I was flicking rubberlegged spiders or crawfish patterns. In this pond they eat whatever hits the water. We caught some Black Crappie that day too on minnow patterns. The picture is deceiving but if you hold out your hand with your watch on it and then compare the fish to your hand-(I'm 6'2") you'll see some slab of a panfish materialize in the palm of your hand! From watchband to past fingertips! woohoo!

Nice! I'm green with envy. One of my renewed/favorite pastimes is targetting big gills on 2-3 wt flyrods. It's amazing how hard they fight and how wary the big boys can be.
I remember there was a guy somewhere in the south ( georga??) that had developed a strain of gills that went 5# . I have his website bookmarked somewhere. Man if I ever get to build my private pond ....... :hihi:
