Couple of trips is a great idea. Don't rule out the short week, Saturday to Wednesday. As our knowledge of the area increases three full days on the water can get you into a lot of fish without burning a ton of vacation. By using MLK, Presidents or other long weekends you could do this trip and only burn two vacation days. Keeps the Mrs happy :lildevl: How's this for a possible schedule:

Fri night: Fly to Nassau
Sat. Morning flight to Acklins, Half day bonefishing
Sun. Full day fish
Mon. Full day fish
Tues. Full day fish
Wed. Tailers at dawn on delectable, 10:30 fly home

Do this on a Holiday weekend and it will be a little lighter on the wallet (not that the original trip wasn't more than reasonable) and you conserve vacation days :smokin:

Unpredictable work schedule may intervene, but I'd like to get my name on the list. It's been five years since I fished the Keys/Marquesas, so I reckon I've got some practicing and tying to do.

When I think back about it, Acklins was truly a bonefisher's heaven. As Rev. Rolle says, "only heaven is better"!

I almost welcome the bitter winter knowing I will be there again.

You will go twice as crazy thinking about it after you go once!

OK it's time to put together some groups...

any of the alumni going again?

jims - y
frank - y
fred - hopeful
bill - y
nute - y
dave - married but hopeful ;)
sasquatch - ?
juro - matter of when not if
capeflydoc - ?
others?

We should combine the new comers with veterans for obvious reasons. Those unwilling to help new adventurers should make arrangements separately (not on the forum). We need to grow the list of veterans each year and get the ball really rolling, this is truly a dream destination for the hardcore angler.

I'm more than hopeful but not 100%. End of March looks promising. New friends are nice but hooking up with old friends is great too.

So you have two open 2-24 thru 3-3... I will try to get in that one provided I have the green light to stress out the ligaments by then from the surgeon. Should be perfect timing.

Sorry if I confused it, Juro . . . Feb 24-March 3 is full. Dave Kopij, Jim, his son and one other friend of Jim's. Bob, of course, has the other unit. If I arrive early (Feb 28) I'll be the couch sleeper.

ok I see thanks

I will start a new group then when I can. I am as confident as the first time in my ability to put together the venue - in fact much more so.

Interested parties please respond.

Adam,

Sorry I just realized I never got back to you. I'll PM my cell, give me a call and we can go over everything.

Guys, things are already in the works. It looks like it will take multiple weeks to get everybody involved.

More to follow........

Bill,

I was a little confused by your email...... do you need a check from me or should I go to Felton directly?

Hi Dave
Sorry for the confusion. Coordinate with Jim. After my emails to you guys (Dec 1 and 2), I think he's handling it with Felton.

You guys are getting me all worked up with all this "Acklin's talk"! I can't wait to go--especially since it's about 15* here in sunny Buffalo and our steelhead streams are icing up. Juro and gang, maybe I'll see you there--I'm on the island from February 17-24, (going to Crooked the next week - February 24--March 3) and then again on Acklins from March 17-24.
Staying at Grey's point in February, and north of Grey's for some DIY in March.
Can't wait to try out my new Natilus reel in the salt!

Juro, I posted a reply to your "partners in crime" thread for February.

You're across the big pond (L. Ontario) from me...(Oshawa is on the north central shore of the lake). The last 3 or 4 days here has seen mild (5-10 celcius) temps...the odd bit of decent rain and manageable run-off...and loads of fresh chromers!!! Just love watching my indicator zip under against the drift. The fish are looking real pretty right now with that purple sheen on their flanks and silver flecks on the rays of their tail fins. You're right though...nothing beats silver in 80 degree temps after having run off 150 yards of line and backing.

Can't wait to get bonefish snot on my hands again.

Later,

Adam
