Might work!?

Lots of movment, and a good silouette (<= correct?).

Hook: Partridge Salar silver #7
Thread: black
"But": Black deerhair + black ostrich herl
Body: Flat holographic silver
Rib: Oval silver tinsel
Front hackel: Soft black hackle
Wing: Black fox or tempeldog, two strands of crystalflash, 5-10 ostrich herls, then finally some more black hair and two strands of peacock flash
Front collar: Black deerhair
Eyes: dumble eyes

I like the use of ostrich herl 'tips' as wing trailers. It might work night or day.

Very nice looking fly. Are you allowed to use weighted flies for Atlantic salmon in Norway? We are not on this side of the Atlantic.

In most of Norway it`s allowed. But there are som places where you only can fish floating lines and unweighted hooks/tubes

I agree. Ostrich herl is exellent used together with fox or tempel dog. Night or day. Specially in slow water.

I suppose the fly would work well without the dumbell eyes too. Perhaps with some flotant on the deer hair.
