For the last week or so I have been having a lot of trouble getting in to the site. I keep getting the screen that says server is too busy try again later. It doesn't seem to matter whether it is at four a.m. or four p.m. Anyone else having the same problems?

Ive seen it 3 or 4 times in the last week, but it didn't seem to last long.

I get that quite a lot, ... sometimes, could be the server doing some internal maintenance (backups and DB compression will do that) ...

Or ...

on the nice side, ... just a popular 'n pleasant site with lots of traffic. :)

p.s. ... LOL, ... as I try to post this reply ... I get The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

Been getting the busy server message for about a week and a half, like mark and others. Notice that there's often an abnormally large number of guests when this occurrs.

Not sure if you did anything but after my previous post I checked and there was 5 to 7 members and 65 guests. Now a couple of members and 19 guest, a more typical ratio I think.

I get the message a lot too. I haven't really been able to visit the forums for almost a week because of it.

No more messages, and the site pages seem to be loading much faster now.

For the first time in a good while, I did not get the message this morning. Thanks for whatever you did.

Well, like we used to do with our go carts and dirt bikes "I took off the governer". But this means we need to watch out for the server to "hit the brick wall".

We might have to beef up the server to keep the safety valve wide open, which means we need to keep up with sponsorships and fund-raisers. Well that should be easier with more traffic. I think it will all work out!

Figured I'd wait it out to see what happened; it did pop up an awful lot. Thanx for any repairs.

I get the "server busy" message from time to time, like everyone else. One time I got it, I was just ready to post yet another profound and poignant commentary on some issue of great import, and, after get back from the "server busy" message, found that my entire post had gone up in ether. Sigh. Had to recreate the whole thing again from my failing memory. thereby losing a chance to save yet again the fly fishing world.

One other thing: how does the post counter work? I seem perpetually stuck at "167."

Cheers,

Eric

Eric -

I am saddened by the loss of your potent prose! I believe you can hit the "back" button to get back to the input screen with text intact after the message, which I hope is 'history'.
