I am new to this forum, but not at all new to flyfishing. I have recently come back from a long time abroad and have been spending the last few weeks revisiting some old rivers. My family is very much involved in fishing and recently invested in 2 Sage Launch rods (9' 5 wt).

They suggested that I get the same, but as fate would have it (or the good price), I got something else. I would just like to ensure that I got something on par or better than the Sage Launch, since I made a somewhat uneducated decision, and I would be glad to hear your opinions on if I succeeded or failed to do this.

My two options were:

1. Sage Launch 9' 5 wt. [4 pc] @ $195
2. St. Croix Avid 9' 5 wt. [4 pc] (35% off) @ $136.50

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Thank you for your advice. I am enjoying my rod and plan to use it next weekend. I hope it does as well as I expect it to.
