I TIE an make my own CREATIONS, an some love them, outher think they just UGLY. BUT there MY flys. an the real COMMENT on them comes from the FISH! so w/ that said heres my NEW BABY SQUID
GOOD LUCK GOOD TYIN :smokin:
Listen to Capt Art...
And when you can snatch the properly coloured deceiver from his hand...
You too, will catch many Striped fish!
Mike...
I stopped stacking bucktail and crafting planer-boards after the unstable aerodynamic characteristics and toothy Bluefish came to the party...
Saltydogs' squid is a beauty...'alot of good stuff going on there!
I think it's a matter of sitting at the tying table and spinning yarn into gold...
Taking fur n' feathers and dressing up a pointy hook to resemble something from a cruise ship seafood buffet...
Good therapy AND, if it works, all the better...a zen bonus!
Not long ago the Right Honourable Striblue started a "tye your own" thread that made a political statement...
I maintain that, if you tye your own, you are simply completing "advanced studies"...
The creative satisfaction generated from doing what Saltydog and others accomplish by "closing the circle" reaches the next technical level...
Practical experimentation keeps things interesting and soonerorlater, when you can walk on the rice paper (while wearing wet waders) and not tear it, much less leave a mark, you are ready for your own TV show or, at least a place on tyers row!
ps
As usual, I degressed...To answer your question...Yes...I agree with Capt Art's deceiver theory...
as long as they have BIG eyez !:Eyecrazy:!
