: Opening Day

The Thunderstorms were blowing up along the backbone of the Cascades this afternoon as I left work. But the good news was that they were concentrated to the central and southen areas (Jefferson, Washington etc.) I decided to wait to leave till morning, as the "vacationers" were already inflicting pain on each other. I felt inclined to not be a part of that.
We broke records here above the 45th with temps in the mid 90s today, but a cooling trend has begun already. I will stay "close in" this weekend and hit some favorites on the upper Clack Saturday and Sunday, then drop down to the Coast on Monday.
How about you? Any opening day plans around the rest of this Great Country?
Ill share pics when I return

This weekend was good, I mean in the Flyfishing sense. Some strikes, some sighting, exploring new spots. Had no landed fish, but that's ok because the whole season is ahead.
It was not untill I returned today and downloaded the pictures that I realized the GREAT part of this weekend, of Opening Day. It is the one shot that summerizes all of our beginings to the experiences we enjoy as adults. This is Daniel, age 10, forth generation Flyfisherman. And although his cast may be a little rough, his presentation in need of fine tuning, Daniel and other young flyfishing men and women like him are the "up-and-coming" ones who we will hand the legacy over to.
Anyway, hope you had a good weekend, opening day, time on the water. I sure did.

You speak the truth brother - that pic was you and I in our dad's eyes and we hope the chain will continue unbroken.

Good seeing you at Sandy recently.
