Guy whose email says he is: Dave Jones
his email address: <deleted by moderator> But his name is:

:tsk_tsk:

This guy puts an ad in for sale, this is the exact ad:

Sage GF LL rod for sale/trade

Sage 7 foot 9 inch for a 3 weight. Factory built with tube and sack. Beautiful light-line rode. Mint condition. For sale for $175 or would trade for a 9 foot, 5 weight of comparable value. Thanks

I get the rod: and it is a Sage RP

I write him and this is what he says:

You are right, it is an RP, that is why I said it was a GFL. I'm not sure
what you mean by an LL, unless Sage made a different series that I'm not
aware of, but a 3 weight is considered a light line, and that is what I
said in the ad, that it was a great light line rod. I'm sorry if you are
not happy with it, but the sale stands

I then asked him to read the forum that everyone who responed had noted that he was an LL, and he writes back:

You're an idiot.

Don't do business with this person, unless you plan on getting scammed

Trader, this is not really the place for this. I know that you are disapointed, and the guy that sold you the rod is being a jerk, and maybe dishonest. Maybe he made a mistake, maybe not.
So, I have one question: Does this sale have anything to do with the FlyFishing Forum? If he is a member here, or you saw his ad here, I think that maybe you have a reason to air your grievance here, but if this tranaction has nothing to do with the Forum or its members, I think that we should delete this post.
I know you are pissed, and maybe want to warn the Forum while slamming this guy at the same time, but....not here. Sorry.

That's what this sites about is'nt it? Helping each other has good karma points. You could be the next guy to take a loss on an add, without a heads up a few others may be scammed. If the guy made a mistake he should make it right,do'nt you think?
Mike.

My .02..........gotta agree with trader........he got hosed. .....I ocassionaly deal in WWII German Daggers....very risky hobby...lots of promises...lots of fake daggers....the dagger community routinely alerts others to sleezy dealers...I for one am glad to see traders post
