Yes thanks there will be plenty of opportunity to help...

But just talked to Stonehorse and we need to block off rooms fairly quickly as there are two other groups in that weekend.

If you know anyone who wants to participate please send them an email or PM and get them to reply so I can give a room count to block off for the mgmt.

I would like to get this confirmed within the next few days.

It's starting to look like we don't need a block of rooms. I spoke with Matt and he is OK with individual arrangements but (a) call ahead and (b) tell them you are with the FORUM spring event to get the special rate.

Some rooms have room for three anglers for even better savings. We'll keep an eye on the conditions as the time approaches and decide on whether to do the cookout or the Squire group area thing.

We may have a special guest from Seattle attending part of the festivities depending on his schedule!

Hi, guys, i'm new to this forum but i'd love to attend this spring clave! The lodging sounds great... So basically in a nutshell all we have to do is call up the Stone Horse and book for May 21 and 22?

juro
04-16-2005, 12:35 PM
Well there is one caveat... rooms are for two or three anglers to get the above rate. This is why I was offering to coordinate to help work out roomies.

If you split a two bd unit it's about $30ea, three bd unit is less, etc. Solo it's about $60 per night so you will want to find a roomie situation I would think.

There is also great camping on Nickerson State park which has 5 trout ponds that fish very well that time of year and holdover fish each winter.

Hope that helps.

BTW - those who asked if they could help...

a) you could volunteer to be the contact for those looking for roomies to lower room costs.

b) you could track the discussion and put up a roster toward the date so we know how many are attending the dinner (we need a headcount)

I am sure there will be more to do soon...

Juro,

I will be there both Saturday and Sunday. I plan on attending the dinner as well. Happy to pitch in if the plan is for a cook-out, too.

Will make arrangements for lodging.

See you there!

Phil -

Rooms are arranged privately, just tell them you are with the group and I would not hesitate due to availability!

Did someone say they could help by keeping the dinner tally?

Chris
05-01-2005, 11:16 PM
Juro,
I'll jump on that one. Look for a list tomorrow- 5/2. I'll coordinate who's bringing what and then what we'll need to get locally. I'd say you're right, this one looks to out do last years kick-off.

Were that pots and pans on loan from Matt or were they arranged otherwise?

Jimmy

Sorry I've been off the board as of late but things have been very busy.

It looks like I won't be able to make this years clave. :( This will be the first on I've ever missed. I've been trying to work out a way to get away but it's not going to happen. My girls will be Irish Dancing on that weekend. They've worked very hard and are looking forward to "showing off". I need to be at their performance.

I'm looking forward to getting to the Cape and discovering all of the new things Mother Nature left behind over the winter. I'll be thinking of you guys. I'll be there in spirit. :)

Looks like (fingers crossed) I will be able to make this one after all.

Have not been able to get in touch with Stone Horse, however. Been calling for a week or so and haven't gotten a call back. What's the trick? Do I need to first send a picture of myself in a Fez with a letter of authorization from the honorable mayorrrr of Chatham?

striblue
05-12-2005, 07:11 PM
Suess... and to others, If anyone gets caught short...CAC should be available...I don't think the Fam will be down then.... AND....The FEZ cannot, I repeat ..cannot be worn off the premises!... otherwise, I cannot bail you out when the Chatham police pick you up and suggest to the judge 30 days observation at Bridgewater... no good for the resume of a Dartmouth man. :tsk_tsk: :Eyecrazy: :lildevl:

Seuss,
I also had trouble getting anyone on the phone. I believe Matt is chief cook and bottle washer for the place and may very well be sprucing the place up for an esteemed group such as ours. Drop him an email and he'll take care of it. That even took a few days before I heard back with mymy confirmation email. He mailed out a hard copy that day as well.

A fishing buddy from Montana as well as my son had to cancel. I called Matt and left a message to free up a room for three. So, it's up for grabs. I hope to come up alone so if anyone has room, I don't take up much space. Striblue. If you're reading this I have never seen the Fez let alone worn one!
