Has anyone out there ever fished, or even been to Loch Avon in the Cairngorms? I fish the river Avon on Speyside regularly for salmon, seatrout and browns, but know very little about Loch Avon, which is at the source of the river. Can anyone shed any light on the fishing on the upper reaches of the Avon and Loch Avon? Thanks

I also fish the River Avon, I have been to the loch but I have never fished it. Have you tried the usual wets? I actually live in Ireland but have a trip over the Avon in late August, I fish a number of Loughs here which are quite like the Avon, i do well on Bibio's, jungle bunnies, watsons, black spiders and some of the bumble patterns. I think my grandfather used to fish it, I will ask him and let you know.
