Gorgeous tie!

capercaille - a large grouse, looked it up

Is that sheen on the wing natural or do you treat it?

Thanks, juro!
Capercaille is a large bird, 4-5-kg (9 pounds?) related to the grouse - I have seen it called "grouse of the woods". I have enclosed a photo. In this fly the wing is made from the tail feathers, the front hackle from speckled body feathers. The feathers and the white spots are all natural!

That is a nice fly, very neat and sparse. I would bet it is a good low water fly.

Did someone say low water?? :hihi:

I enjoy the challenge...still water ( just me and one fish and no current).

Nice fly !!

By the way, low water is certainly not going to happen soon here....
We are in a big snow storm..... school is out!!
