Hello, I sold all my Redingtons and bought several CFO V Disk Drive Saltwater reels. Anyone have any experience with the CFO's. I have fished freshwater for years and these have proven to be great reels. I am getting into fishing for bonefish and hope I have spent my money wisely. Your comments apprecited... Jeff

A word to the wise: Orvis does not test their equipment as they should.

those are pretty nice reels for fresh water, but I think that the CFO V might not be so great for salt water or bone fish. I am afraid that it might turn out to be a little short on backing. If you rinse after every outing, it might hold up ok. I have seen the drag discs get loose (like the whole assembly) but only on that reel (not the IV, III ect). If those reels don't hold up, you could work an exchange for one of the newer models (the Mach perhapse).
