: Green Highlander, hair wing

Since there have been several very nice examples of the classic Green Highlander posted, I'd thought I'd post a scan of a hair wing version tied with the classic body and a 4-part wing. This one is on a #8 hook.

The dressing (in the order the materials are tied in).

tip: oval silver (I used silver wire on #8 and smaller)
tag: golden yellow floss (I use Japanese silk split into a smaller floss)
tail: G.P. crest (also known as a topping)
butt: black ostrich herl (I use Gobin's method of several black goose
shoulder fibers wrapped around black thread for #6 and smaller)
rib: oval silver
rear 1/4 body: golden yellow floss (again I use silk)
hackle: Highlander Green rooster neck (Chinese or Whiting Amercian)
front 3/4 body: Highlander Green (or grass green dubbing)
underwing: G.P. tippet fibers
mid-wing: yellow, orange, and Highlander Green bucktail (small bunches of
each tied in one on top of the other)
throat: yellow rooster hackle (Chinese or Whiting American)
top-wing: light brown bucktail
cheek: jungle cock
head: black thread

Damm Flytyer! :Eyecrazy:

All these nice flies, looks like your getting ready for the spring season. Your going to have to meet us up in Gaspe one of these days.

One of these years I fully intend to do so. I've wanted to fish the Gaspe rivers for many years.
