Well a local spring pond has a special extended season from jan1-sept30

this time of year it is the only place i can fly fish besides the tribs so of course i choose to fish this and another pond Mckeawn springs just down the road

This year i was surprised to find that there were brookies in the stream below the damn at paradise which had broke in the fall of 03 and a lot of fish were washed down into the small stream and many killed by the low water

Paradise is now chok full of stockker bows which have wisened upa a bit but are nothing near as challenging as the browns and brookies used to be here

i do not know why but the brookies in the stream weren't too skittish and take midge dries readilly the three i have caught have all came on the same cdc midge pattern

ok enough talkin here are the pics

the first brookie i found in the stream 1-30-05

the second i caught 2-12-05

here is the little pod of brookies i found there was also a brown or two swimming around these fish didn't spook as easily as i thought they would i was standing right on top of them when i caught the second fish from this pod

ok here is the brookie from mckeawn surprising this fish is a stocked fish amazing colors for a stocky and my friend who took the pic caught a male that was even brighter

and my banty built from the middle and tip section of a 9' south bend 5 wt
