In the trout thread Terry mentioned that there are opportunities for pursuit of northern pike, tiger muskies and depending on where you live the real duck-eating gators in the weedy stillwaters near our homes.
Anyone with a saltwater FF pedigree should be well suited to the task, except you don't have to wash down the gear afterward!
Casting big surface movers like Dahlberg's Divers and/or striper flies like what Pete from Calgary tells us *really work* on pike is a no-brainer for a nor'easter. Wrasslin' big pike is a great parallel to a tarpon hound from the keys.
His idea is a good one, there is enough knowledge in the minds of the participants to put together a real good fangclave this spring!
Count me in Terry.
BTW - a run to the NEC (North East Conclave), a humongous conclave held by the @FLYFISH maillist community would put us right in Chatauqua country. We could do a trout and torpedo clave with car pooling from Boston to Upstate NY. Just a thought.
