Decided I would tie the much-spoken-of Intruder pattern. I was wondering if anyone has considered tying the tail onto the rear hook rather than onto the straightened hook, kinda sorta like an articulated leach. Seems that it would increase movement significantly. Would also be a little easier to rig. The only down side I see is that if the hook goes bad it would be difficult to simply replace the hook. Any thoughts?

jack cook does the same on his gp's and in fact calls them articulating gp's.

The current issue of "Salmon-Trout-Steelheader" has an article on tying the Intruder. The photos show tying on a tube, but tying on hooks is also discussed.
