Ladies and Gentlemen,

NOAA-F has just released it's Biological Opinion regarding tripling the impact on ESA listed Steelhead in the Columbia River for the benefit of the spring chinook commercial fishing fleet.

This won't come as much of a surprise, but they found that tripling the impacts will not further jeopardize the continued existence of the listed steelhead.

The States' F&W Commissions can still stop this madness before their harvest-oriented Departments start collecting their pats on the back from their friends in the commercial fishing industry...so it is vitally important that we all show up at the meetings and thoughtfully and forcefully demand that they do what is right for the region, for the fish, and for the citizens of both states, which is not sell out conservation for the short term economic gains of a few commercial fishermen.

If anyone would like a copy of the BiOp allowing the triple impact, e-mail, PM, or post your e-mail to me here, and I will send you a copy. It's an 850k .pdf file, 66 pages long, or so.

Fish on...

Todd
