Hi Everyone
It looks like I'll be forced to go to Kauai in July.
Does anyone have any information on flyfishing there.
Its a hard life and you must always try to please your wife.

We have a timeshare at Hanalei and I've done a bit of scratching around the various reef beaches on the North Shore. I'm usually there in the "off" season which means high winds and heavy seas. July should be perfect. A search back through this board will yield some reports. A good beach guidebook will be very helpful in pre-planning - location of major reef breaks. (Dangerous to swimmers = probably big current and good for fishing...)

Most of the fish I caught were small reef fish, jacks cornetfish ec. There are reports of bonefish around but they tend to hang out over the deeper water. Given enough recon time I'll bet they show up on the beach shallows from time to time.

Let me know if I can be any more help and other folks please chime in.

The Kauaii flyfishing society is even more exclusive(or is it elusive) thanhe Aruba bonefish club :lildevl:

Let us know how you get on!
