Figure this thread is an annual thing so someone's got to start it.

Me, I got:
A couple of flatz shirts
Browns "Flyfishig for Bonefish" and Bonefish Flys"
Couple of gift certs, 1 to Fishin the Cape and one to flydepotdotcom.
Bottle of pogy oil (Glenmorangie 18 year old)
One engaged daughter (I advised of my no deposit no return policy)
And, always useful, Jaworowskis "Troubleshooting the Cast" from my grand nephew (always gets neet and useful gifts).

Not much fishing related this year:

A copy of "Fishing Dirty Tricks" from a "friend"

Non fishing - complete Django Reinhardt (1936 - 1948 CD set) from my beloved. :smokin:

"Django Reinhardt"! Cool. Is Stephan Grapelli still alive? Need to practice what, dirty tricks or the guitar?

I was Surprised with a digital recorder/camera. If I can ever figure out how to use
this high tech gadget you will all be sorry.

Grapelli passed away about 9 years ago. I don't believe that any of the former members of the QHCF are still alive. that the Mirage box set? I'm in the jazz business and my label is putting together some samplers for our distributor and those Mirage sets are held up as the gold standard. A great gift!

Yo Brooklyn --

Holidays been berry berry good to me. An Atlantis (you know about that one) and some new breathables to replace my now unsalvageable-nothing-can-reduce-the-smell-0f-my-6 year old Simms. Probably my most extravagant giftage ever. Whatta wife!!! Bring on bankruptcy!!! As long as we're happy.

I thought I was cured of gearheadedness, but I'm having flashbacks to my youth ......

It was published back in 1999, but I got a copy of Veverka's Innovative Saltwater Flies. The color plates alone make this book a work of art. :smokin:

If you are in the market for some stockingfoot there are some killer deals available on the web for the Patagonia's. I hear there is a new model coming out next year so a lot of shops are blowing them out. I have seen them for as low as $168 depending on what size you are looking for.

I must have been a very bad boy this year. I didn`t get a single fishing related gift. All I got was cloths, someone even had the gall to buy me a tie! I wonder if I can attach it to a stick and practice casting in the house? My greatest gifts will come in the spring when I become a grandpa twice in 3 months!

Brooklyn: The box CD set was from Mosaic - they did a very nice job. You would think the tracks recorded back in the 1930's and 40's were set down yesterday! I was lucky enough to see a Grapelli live concert back in the early 1970's when he was touring with Louis Vola, the bassist from the original QHCF and Diz Disley who played a pretty fierce guitar. Stephane was in his late 60s then and considered to be at the very peak of his art.

So, I guess there's still hope for me :smokin:

My dumb a$$! Mosaic it is. you are so lucky. A fabulous set! And to see MR. G.. wow.

If someone could just get me a time machine for new years so that I could go back 70-80 years and spend a month watching Django and the boy heat it up...that would be better than GBFT on fly rods!

Cheers Adrian!

Didn't get much in fly fishing gear but did get Radar for my sloop RC LOUISE. Plus a 3 hp kicker for my 8 foot Zodiac. Also got a bottle of home made after shave lotion made out herbs from my daughters garden.

I did send as gifts to my 6 bad republican friends, none to my good republican friends, Jesus Action Dolls. Yesterday I recieved in the mail 2 Ann Coulter Talking Action Dolls and got a phone call saying another one is on the way. My bad republican friends are very thoughtful indeed. :hihi:

Anyone have ideas on what I should do with so many Barbi brained, sorry, I mean Barbie look a like dolls?

OC - what a riot! :chuckle:

I got among other things, a guilt-free pass to explore Acklins / Crooked Island this winter. It was the best gift I could receive!
