The love affair with DNA goes on. This is the pogie I`ve been at since mid summer.

This fly is on a Varivas 1/0 990s. I`ve used a spreader to get the wider profile. I like to try to capture the varied hues in the bait so it has several shades starting with polar mixed with pearl midge flash, then light pink with a bit of pink midge flash, then lilac then a smoke topping( don`t ya just love the names they come up with for these colors).

Nice Job Steve... Also, check out Steve Farrars work. I think he ties in by a back fold tie in.

Great looking flies.. is that epoxy over the head, or something else?

Do you guys prefer any the fish fiber/frosty fiber/holo-fusion over the other?

I believe that Slinger violated Chargaff's Rule with this particular tie :D He must use equal parts frosty and holo in the future such that the phish atrractant nature of the phley is maximized :whoa:

...and that would be Dave Chargaff of Dave's Bait and Tackle down in Hingham?

I like 'em. Nice looking fly!
Any local shops carrying the Varivas 990s?

Varivas isn`t making hooks any longer and I can`t get anymore. Actually there is one place that still has them but I don`t trhink he`s a sponsor so.... I`m sure you could substitute any wide gap hook. I`ve started hoarding these hooks, having bought 200 in the last month.

Thanks for the info, Slinger.
As for Varivas not making hooks anymore... :(
I really prefer them for smaller flies such as epoxy style candies, etc.
