: End of year donation drive

12-06-2004, 12:26 PM
Hate to do it but I am going to have to ask that folks who can spare $5, $10 or $20 dollars please pitch into the pot for the year. I have a payment to clear hosting for the year and need to renew the domain as well as button up a few last minute things like payment for the Wilmington show booth.

If you enjoyed the site for the year and can help me get through this final chore for 2004 to start 2005 with a clean slate, please send a small donation via paypal to:

(paypal) temporary donation page (http://www.flyfishingforum.com/donations/paypal.htm)

For those without paypal, hold on to your donation until the next time we need some help as I am sure it will come up.

I will let you know when we hit the target of $750. If 75 people give $10, 150 give $5, 300 people give $2.50, etc - it should be an easy way to close out the year on a clean slate.

Thank you!

This is a no brainer - I figure a good magazine subscription goes over $20 and I get a lot more out of this site.

Glad to help out - hopefully others are too, I'd hate to see these pages fade.

Thanks to the 5 folks who chipped in we're up to $134 already. Thanks guys!

We close out our server costs for the year on the 16th of December.

Post a fly fishing charter trip for two on the Cast a Fly in Narragansett Bay, RI. Good any time during the 2005 season. This might help the next time the note is due.

Capt.Ray -

Great to have you as a sponsor again in 2005. Your generosity over the years has been much appreciated, and I know I speak for the whole group when I say we've enjoyed getting to know you better each year whether tying at our booth at the shows, hosting the early bird claves or best of all on the deck of your phenomenal boat!

We'll kick off the year with a bang, thanks again Ray and I look forward to seeing you at the shows this winter.

It's been pure pleasure and a labor of luv trying to help the Forum. Where else can you find so many helpful people who go out of their way to promote fly fishing and help a friend? It's a nice feeling helping others enjoy the sport.

Over the years I have been fortunate to meet members at shows, demo's, and claves. We all try to return the favor in some way.

You know the feeling Juro. ..Catching dozens of bass doesn't equate to the experience of aiding a fisher who catches his first bass. Sharing and enjoying the moment afterwards is priceless.

Juro, if you're still short I will be happy to send a check: my PayPal account
is taking a *long* time to start up. Just pm an address I can send it to.

Just tell me where to send the check.
I've really learned a lot on this site, and wish to thank you and others for your honest, and very helpful information.

There is a bit more in the care of USPS that should be there in the next day or two. Sorry I don't use paypal.

12-16-2004, 11:21 AM
Juro..I just Paypaled my donation this morning...

Juro -

Check your PMs. I made a pledge yesterday, but won't use PayPal. Details in the PM.

Everyone -

Think about the take-home value of what you learn here versus what you get in one of the slick monthly fishing mags. Isn't your annual daily fix on this board worth seven cents a visit--a $25 contribution? Or better still, fourteen cents--for a $50 hit? Go for it.

12-18-2004, 02:43 PM
Juro- My first post. I sent a small contribution via PayPal. I hope to get a lot of sorely needed info from this board over the next year. I just found this website and also just got a spey rod. So I sure need some help :D Great Spey site here !

12-18-2004, 03:00 PM
By the generosity of the 28 people who pitched in... we ended up at $576!

Little late here, sorry. Kicked in some and will do so next time around as well. This board has been very educational for me in many ways and I'm glad that I'm also allowed to leverage the power of this medium for my annual PMC fundraising.

All my best for a happy and healthy new year to all!
