Thinking I need a new 8'6" #5 this winter and wondering which of the two I should go with and why. I am not anywhere near a local scott dealer so I have no idea about casting the A2 and I am going to cast the FLi this week. Is the FLi a more moderate fast than true fast action, say an xp or an rplxi or xii? One dealer said that the actions on many of the scott rods were a little faster than they advertise, meaning a medium-fast would be a fast in their book. Anyway, thanks for all the help and have a fish-full thanksgiving.

I can only comment on the A2 which I fished in a 9ft lenght and loved it. It is a bit faster then my SP and is a great rod, especially for the price
