It is with great saddnes that I post the news of the death of a friend and a fellow angler, Bob York passed away Sunday morning at his sisters home in Oregon.
A complete listing of Mr. Yorks accomplishments in his tree work and his fishing both commercial and sport would fill many volumes and at some point probably will.
I had the pleasure of knowing Bob since the late 60's and had the pleasure of his company over the years in many situations. My wife and I fished with Bob on the Kispiox in the mid 80's it was Demaries introduction to Bob that will always be , to me , the "Gold Standard" (of measure) which tonight when I related to her the news of his passing she said for the second time (this time with tear filled eyes) "Bob York was a prince of a guy".

Thanks for the update Moonlight. Another of the tradition setters has passed on. I will make sure we toast him Wednesday night in camp.

Thanks for passing on the sad news Moonlight. I always enjoyed the opportunities I had to talk with Bob.

I was able to spend a couple of winters fishing with Bob when he wintered in Brookings. I hope he enjoyed them as much as I did.

He will be missed.

Although I haven't seen Bob on the Skagit the last few years, it was always a pleasure to run into on the river. Like many of the other "old school" gents, he was a true sportsman.
