I fished at Ocean Beach and the Old Saybrook causeway for a few hours. Found plenty of shad at the causeway and got a few schoolies at Ocean Beach at sundown. Still some larger fish around too.
I got a late start and arrived at Ocean Beach at around 10:30, just before low tide. I was shooting for mid tide  . No bird activity or obvious fish activity, although I did see one nice fish ~30" swim past the end of the jetty. Only stayed for an hour and didn't catch anything. Went to Old Saybrook and caught a few shad during the early afternoon, then headed back to Ocean Beach. Upon my return I discovered that the wind had increased just a bit. Oh well, what else is new. Headed out to the jetty and watched a couple of of guys casting poppers for a while. They didn't catch anything but said there were a lot of fish around earlier (sunrise to 8:30 or so). After they left I started casting a small olive/chart/white Clouser and eventually caught a 16" schoolie, which gave me the incentive to stay for a while longer. I fished until just after dark and caught a few more schoolies, the largest about 20". A couple of them fell for a black slider that I tied on as it got dark. It would have been a great night to fish for a while if the wind wasn't so strong.

I fished Fire District and Central Beaches from late morning until sunset on Sunday. There were fish in the wash on peanut bunker at the former, and fish in the wash of the rocks at the latter. Schoolies for the most part, with and occasional larger fish thrown in.
Great day for early November weather-wise. :)

I was out Sunday afternoon. Not much surface activity other than waves.
While parked over one of my favorite intercept points we charted lots of fish and bait movin through on the fish finder. Pretty bouncy off Napatree point with 4-8 footers. Most everyone anchored up by the light house and seal rock on the leeward side of Fishers Island. Pretty good fishin for November though, wish the winds would take a break so I could run out to Montauk.

Plan is to head down early morning to Rhody next Friday, Nov. 19 - what's the chance they'll still be fish around that might be enticed by a fly? It looks like it's going to be in low 50's, with some rain. Low Tide 8:08 AM/High 2:12 PM (Watch Hill).
Anyone else going to be in the area that day?
