Checked out a few local spots and stopped to fish at a causeway where the bobber-brigade was lined up. They were catching trout on shiners. Not sure if they just stocked it or if the trout were naturally congregated there to feed on a large school of bait about 3 casts away from shore. I didn't get in on the trout action but did catch a nice bluegill to avoid being skunked. Shoulda brought the boat  .
Anyone else get out today?

Went for steehead on the spey and caught a dinky walleye on the spey. Go figure. Also lost a big fish that fought way more like a walleye than it did like a steelie. Couldn't catch one for a decade and a half, now I can't keep 'em off my hooks.

I was able to get the boat out for the last time and caught four from 12 to 17 inches, as sort of the last horah for the year... Time to get tying for next season.
