Hey guys, I usually post on the forums related to steelheading and salmon in the northwest, but I am out at school now in Brunswick, ME, and I am really interested in fishing for stripers...I was thinking of hitting popham beach, but I dont know what tide or flies to fish...anybody having any luck. thanks in advance.

You must be at Bowdoin College...nice area. My grandparents live across the river in Thopsham.

We have a few Maine regulars here on the board who have far more experience with the Popham area than I do, but I do recall from my own fishing that it's pretty darned good on a dropping tide. There have been some decent bluefish in that area this season in addition to the usual stripers.

Good luck, and I'm sure others will follow with more advice.

I'm certain quite a few good tips have been posted already about the area. Try a few searches while you wait for some of the regulars to chime in on the area. There is a wealth of infomation already on this board if your willing to spend the time looking alittle and reading about it.

Good luck and tight lines,
Greg.
