What causes this? I seem to be able to throw the line a good distance with a fair degree of accuracy but when I go to change flies I always have at least one Knot in the leader, usually within a few inches of the fly. Next, don't they make a forward moving flipper for float tube fishing? I can't find one and I hate going backwards all the time. Thanks in advance.

The knots you get are called wind knots. They are caused by a tailing loop. Or in other terms the fly is below the bottom line. In my case its caused by bending (breaking) the wrist too much at the end of the cast

Oh a tailing loop looks something like this in a side view.
