: Portsmouth NH 6/6

Saturday was not a fishing day.

My in-laws bought a retirement home in Portsmouth, NH and we all spent the day painting and ripping down cracked and saggy plaster ceilings. This was the 1st weekend in the new house and we wored like dogs.

We retired after a nice dinner at the Bow Street Cantina (great sangria) and slept soundly through the night.

I woke up around 7:50 AM on Sunday morning and tip-toed to the car. I was on the water near a nice little rip by 8 AM. That beats the 2.5 hour ride to Chatham any day.

On my first cast I got a definite hit.

On the second cast I landed a super bright and very feisty 20 inch schoolie. The birds were working a bit and lots of guys in boats drifting through the local rips and holes.

5 fish (18-20 inch class) in 30 minutes and then I went back to get my father-in-law so he could get into some striper action. We were back otw in 45 minutes and I didn't even get a hit.

It figures!

But man I love living near the water....

Life is good...
