I have received information from one of my angling friends in Maryland that the hickory shad are starting to make their presence known in that area. With the recent declines in the menhaden populations, these shad have become a larger percentage of the food sources of some large bass and bluefish, so their movement up the coast is always a good thing.

Hickory shad are not the only fish that are running down here. We have had rockfish all winter long and the big spawning migration has been underway for a couple of weeks!
