So it comes time in the year for our usual Fall Classic banter. The Mariner's may get it this year, I'm hoping the Yanks get a chance to do battle. Sorry to clutter this board, but there's no baseball section of the FFF!
Wait... I am moving this to the Worldwide board to get the Steelhead guys into the M's celebration }>
YAH BABY! Seattle Mariners find their bats, no turning back now! Take two in Cleveland, fine. Lose one the other by a hair on the road, OK too - then win game 5 in SAFECO and move on to beat up the A's. Ooops sorry, the Yanks. ;-)
Either way is fine by me... [hehe]
You know this one had to come back to the top.
How 'bout them Yanks? Man, normally they just have the baseball gods on their side, now they have the rest of the gods as well. Unbelievable last two games of the series.
I was wondering when you were gonna get to this...
Once again, although I am deeply bummed about my Mariners, they did get to enjoy a season in heaven - and if NYC gets a little break from the hell, the way they've played this post-season, the heart and the emotion the city must feel... it's a good thing overall.
We'll get yer' pinstriped butts next year! }>
This is my favorite part:
Had a Diamondback hit it, had a Mariner hit it, had anybody from Boston hit
it, you know it would have hit the top of the wall. But this was the World
Series. This was the Yankees. This was Derek Jeter.
So of course, it cleared the fence by the approximate length of Jeter's
after-midnight stubble. And of course, it stayed fair. And of course, the
Yankees had won a game they couldn't win. Because that's what they do.
Sorry Juro, but you gotta love this team!
I wasn't a Yankee fan through the regular season, through the ALDS, especially thru the ALCS (HATED 'em) but even in that devastating series I felt a certain spirited emotion when they played and won in NYC, a few miles from ground zero.
Right now, I am a Yankee fan of sorts, but one who hopes Randy (the ex-Mariner) pitches a blistering 9 innings to reward DB's with another win on SAT. }>
