Although there is enough water in my basement for some practice casting, I was actually hoping to put my flies in front of fish this weekend.

Anybody know how the Central MA rivers held up after this flood? I'm sure the swift if fishable but would rather not deal with the early season 'scene'.

Their blown out. For instance the Gage station on the Squanacook in West Groton was at ~ 8 feet earlier today. Its normally ~ 3- 3.75 feet at this time of year. Heck I like the river best when its near 2 feet.

The Usgs realtime water flow stats are here http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ma/nwis/current/?type=flow

Thanks. I actually talked to a guy at Squan outfitters and he said they had to close bridge street in Townsend...apparently the water is ripping over the dam and threatening to take out the old millhouse - they are trying to save it as we speak.

Yikes!
