... it's about time someone came up with pearlescent tying thread!

Already been done, search the web for Kreinik binding filament.

Ahhh, then I retract my statement. Will do; thanks John!

Don't worry about it Chris. Kreiniks products normally hide in a craft shop, rather than a tackle store. The spools don't fit a bobbin very well either.

Have you used it, and if so, how easy or difficult is it to work with? Also, while I'm asking questions, what size flies do you think it will tie (smallest to largest hook sizes)?

I've mostly used it for ribbing or flash on freshwater flys. The only dificulty is that the spool is longer than a standard thread spool and that its strength wise the stuff I've used is ~ 8/0 thread.

It is made in different sizes so I probably have one of the smaller sizes. I'll check at home tonight. There might be something more suited to SW tying on my thread rack.

Actually, 8/0 is what I use on nearly all of my freshwater flies, with clear 0.004" mono and 7/0 Uni-Cord being the only other threads I use. If I can find something for both freshwater and saltwater patterns, I'll buy a few spools.

I couldn't find the spool of krenik stuff. And I tied with it last week. But I did find a spool of DMC embroidery thread in pearl its a touch bigger than A size rod building thread.
