This is a new feather for the crab Apple, In order to make some lighter color crabs I opted for the mallard flank feather. I used this originally on my Flounder. This one has Gold color mallard flank on tan foam. I am going to finish one with tan or natural mallard flank. I will also do one with the Micro speck tan turkey flats which I am now using on the Flounder Around. The legs are Silver hen cape light ginger... a nice leg with a little fuz at the base. The claws are the same mallard flank as the carapace, but cut to shape. I will try these on the flats and have not fished this fly yet. I know that a friend of mine, Tom Thomas who fishes the Monomoy flats and developed the Rattle Crab uses all tan. With this color I will cover both dark and light.

Don't forget the dark green crab. I witnessed a angler catching a very large cow on the flats with a large dark green crab. Nice work on the light crab.
