Juro and I set up the booth this morning and it was great that JimW., Grego and Brian (Bardy) were able to help out and spell us. Nice to see Tom D after so long and the raffles went well. I think we had a good amount of traffic stop by. Stopped by and spoke with Bob Popovics who was fast into his hollow flies. Spoke with Lefty Kreh, who feels that the fly tying is moving back into traditional areas. Charlie Lemieux had some bueatiful flies. Jared stopped by inbetween working the UFT booth. Capt. Ray and SeanM. spent time. Missed Saltwater Edge and The Bears Den and also missed the book seller. All not there this year. First Light had a great set up and their new store in Rowley is opening up this Saturday. I bought one Cape, a little device for putting painted eyes on flies and that was it. See you tomorrow. Here are some pics and a special thank you to all the guys who participated in the swaps and made their flies available for our raffle... 1/2 went today ,the second half tomorrow.

Great to see you guys yesterday...who tied the fly in the upper left corner of the framed collection?
Enjoyed Dave Skok's seminar.
Grabbed a new rod and reel.

It was a great day for sure, great to see everyone and the booth was hoppin'

CAC dignitary and flycrafter emeritus Striblue's presence really made the place upper crust.

JimW quickly got things in gear as usual, and the raffles generated some real interest. We'll have a new shadow box for today, Kim Pasternak won yesterday's and all runner-ups will be listed today after the show for both days. Some have already claimed their prizes since they were there at the drawing. We'll do today's a little early since we'll need to pack up.

If you come by, get a famous forum flybox gift for buying $5 in tickets, or a set of Fixxomatic stripping basket cones and a famous forum flybox for buying $10 in chances for the Sunday drawing.

See ya there

Nice seeing you guys at the show....finally meeting John and Jim W. Spring can't be too far away. John, I bought some "goop at the show...will give a whirl at trying to "immitate" your creative use. Juro.....I see a 'Pasternak" won something yesterday...."Kim???"...I know there was an "Amy Pasternak' with me :-) ...same person? See you guys on the flats soon.

Ron..I am on my way to the show right now... we kept the tickets with the prizes and will let Juro know of your post and will check the ticket. Juro may have miss read that or not... I will look at it as well. We will also check to see if there are "two" Pasternak's... Amy or Kim... I will get back to you.

Thanks Jim, Amy will be excited. This will be her first Spring on the flats as she has been living in California the past 7 yrs. She loves trout fishing BUT she hasn't experienced May/June on the flats for stripers :-)
The flies will come in handy. I've been tying for 2 all Winter...I need a break :-)

I was a no show, grrrr. The show comes to 2 miles from my house and I couldn't make it! Events conspired against me.
Seems everyone wants to hear Irish music this time of year, not to mention kid patrol bla bla bla. Missed you guys.

It was really a quality time, relaxed too without that wooden monstrosity to assemble and disassemble :smokin:

Of course it would be nice to have one of those magic genie backdrops (referring to the way it collapses into a tiny little tube) but they are several thousand dollars each and we'd be better off reserving the RIDICULOUS CLAVE on a tropical island next winter with that money.

Please take a minute to thank Paul Fuller, president of Sport Shows who made this booth possible for us.

He can be reached by email or phone, contact info at sportshows.com

Next on the agenda (among other things....):

April -
> Trout University and T&T factory field trip in Western MA
> Golden Gate Spey-o-rama in San Francisco April 23-25

May -
> Two-hander clave Sandy Hook Jersey
> Midwest Spey Clave Muskegon Michigan (May 8th)
> Nor'easter Spey Clave in NH with Topher Browne
> Webmaster Spring Clave, Sean comes to lobsta land... May 14-15th in Chatham

June -
> West meets east II: Leland, Doublespey and possibly Nrthfk16 invade Cape Cod flats

July -
> Rip Trips!

August -
> BONECLAVE '04

September -
> Two-hander Clave

October -
> Rhodyfest

next winter... RIDICULOUS CLAVE :smokin:
